Swedish Massage
A soothing massage, Swedish is a system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques to relieve muscle tension and aid joint flexibility.Relaxation/Stress MassageThis massage is great for stress relief, tight muscles, pain and tingling in arms and legs, injuries, or painful, restricted joints.Sports MassageFor the physically active and the athlete, this massage is specially designed to meet the special needs of the athlete. The techniques are similar to those in Swedish and deep tissue massage, but have been adapted for the athlete.Pre-event massage can help warm up muscles and improve circulation before the actual competition, but it can also energize or relax the athlete and help him or her to focus on the competition. Post-event massage can push waste products out of the body and improve recovery. Trigger Point Release/Deep TissueThis massage applies deeper, more focused pressure to "knots" trigger points, to break the cycles of spasm and or pain.Hot Stone Therapy
In many shapes and sizes, smooth river stones are used during Hot Stone massage therapy to elicit physical healing,
mental relaxation, and connection to earth energy. Heated to various temperatures, up to 140 degrees, the stones are placed during the massage.
Warm stones encourage the exchange of blood and lymph in the body, and provide
soothing heat for deep-tissue work. Stones are placed in various places on the body to balance energy, or may be used by Joanne for specific trigger-point work. Raindrop MassageA combination of aromatherapy and reflexology, Raindrop Therapy uses essential oils that are dispensed on the back. Special techniques are used to apply the oils for deep penetration into the cells and tissues of the body.Massage Benefits |
